So working for FISS has been great so far 😍 the 3 bosses are cool, all the instructors are a good laugh and the apartment they found us is great.

The bosses put on a get to know each other social early in the season and paid for drinks and some food.

The other instructors took this on board and decided to organise a social for Jas’s birthday at the bowling place in town.

On Christmas Day Bella, one of the Kiwis, organised a get together where people brought something they missed from home and FISS let us use the staff room so there was enough room for us all. We made and took Pigs in Blankets !

Slope side staff room Xmas Day

As usual in a ski resort, Xmas was just another day teaching. Although we did meet these guys handing out sweets to the kids, that powered them on for a few runs πŸ˜‰

NEW YEAR’S EVE – a few people had arranged to go to Aijito’s, the best bar in Furano. It’s our anniversary, so Janet was determined we stayed till after midnight even though we were both teaching the next day………

We are hard to spot on the balcony – think Janet is behind the green light.

We all walked up to the interns’ accommodation for some pre-loading, then saw in NY at the bar. Followed by fried chicken in the convenience store and a stagger home !!! Be careful what you wish for Janet πŸ˜€

Everyone survived the next day, we both had fun, easy going students, and an early night was apparent by the dead quiet in the apartment block around 9pm !!! 😴😴😴😴😴

Looking over to Asahi-dake ski area

It’s on everyone’s wishlist to ski/board Asahi-dake as it has a cable car up, then no pistes !!! Just off piste back to the bottom. Requires a hire car, like minded people to be off the same day and good weather 🀞🀞🀞🀞
